Our History

Our church has a long history in the town of Zion.  It was established in 1837 by a circuit rider named Salmon Stebbins.  The current sanctuary is over 100 years old.  The church has burned several times over its long and illustrious history.  The last time was in 1993.  The sanctuary sustained smoke damage, but was spared.  At that time the office and education wing were completely rebuilt.  An outside ramp for accessibility was added as was an elevator to the basement and second floor.

Memorial Church celebrated its 175th anniversary in 2012. We are excited and grateful to God for all He has done for His church. God  has used us in numerous ways to spread the message of hope, love and acceptance in the years past. God continues to work through us to bring the message hope alive both in our community and beyond...
